Hi all,
as the title says, this is my 1st post on thr Darren Hayes forums. So i'd like to say a big Hello to every DH fan around the world!
Well, i'm now an Official Member, and as a man of 35 years of age, I feel a little silly, becoming a fan member, but I did, purely to get more inside information, and hopefully some VIP tickets in the future to some of the gigs.
I've been a fan, since the old Savage Garden days.
I've seen two concerts now, the Dark/Light tour(Nottingham) and also A Big Night In(Nottingham).
Personnaly, I preferred the Dark/Light tour.
Thie Dark/Light tour now ranks as my 2nd favourite concert EVER, 1st is still Prince Lovesexy Live '88 (Birmingham).
The Dark/Light tour for me was incredible...... and i've said it before and i'll say it again.... Darren Hayes has the best vocals i've EVER heard Live.... I've also seen many Artists... Michael Jackson, Prince, Madonna, INXS, Kylie, George Michael...it goes on and on....
His vocals are a cut above anyone else I have seen...incredible.
I wasn't THAT impressed with A Big Night In. I might get flamed for it, but I found the whole single guy/single girl thing to be a little tacky... Sorry just my opinion. I would have preferred more audience participation similar to the Dark/Light tour with the IPOD and Camera, I thought that could have been much better, choose maybe 12 audience members to come on stage during the evening and choose a song they would like sung by Darren.....
Now onto the album, The Tension and the Spark....This is my No 1 album of ALL Time. Previous Number 1 was Prince Lovesexy, but it's now TTATS. The Prince album held the position since 1988, and since TTATS was released, it's been Number 2.
As far as I am concerned each track could be a hit single in it's own right, usually an album for me has a few hit songs and the rest are fillers, well Darren, this is a Masterpiece.... there isn't one track which I dislike, or find to be any worse than the previous. It's the work of a genius to me....
As for a favourite track...Well I can't really choose... there all darn good...
I'm now looking forward to the Too Close for Comfort DVD, which I hope is released soon, as I can't wait to get my hands on this, as I missed this concert. I've seen on the store page the DVD listing, so hopefully it won't be too long now.
Also waiting to hear some details on a 3rd album.......
Sorry for the long post, but thought i'd just like to say Hi, and to mention a few things.
Looking forward to what the future might bring.......
Thanks for listening!
