Well even with public posters with green blocks it says they are on a distinguishing road. Or something like that. I am an unknown quantity. I am off the radar, lurking in the bushes, I guess :blink:

At this point in time I am not sure what the public ppl will be able to do and not do. Please remember the site and forum change happend bang smack at the beginning of the tour and everyone is very, very busy and the most pressing issures are dealt with first.
I am not sure if you will be able to view the profiles.....but really, if you are not a community member why should you be able to view them. Thats not to say that maybe it wont be set up at some point that you can see the other public members profiles.
The same with rating threads etc......just be a little patient and see what gets set up when there is some time ok.
The reason why you are an "unknown" at this point is because you have not yet been given any rep points.

The mimber fourms have been set up like this for a while now and I have yet to figure it all out :blink: for example rep points are given to you by other fiurm mimbers for verios reasons and the people who have the most are normaly people who can help out around the fourms by eather giving advice or makeing sigs or what have you, now for some reason with some people thay don't show up for exsample I have 2 but it doesn't say 2 on my post but I knowe thay are ther becous whin I go to my CP thay are there now as for the green thing I have no idia. I am an unknown qwanaty as well and it is not from lerking or lack of posting

Yeah, i'm not sure if i like this whole being separated into public and community members with the different things that we all can and cant see. I feel a lesser fan because theres this whole other group that i cant afford to belong too. Its abit pants.

Well all I know is we will have to wait and see what they're gonna do. But if they don't at least let us see people's profiles, that wouldn't be too good -- or fair. After all, they can see our profiles, at least I think they can. I don't believe they are trying to keep it separate by holding back on features. But, this is the public board though, so everybody should have the same access. And it's all on the same system, so I don't understand why everybody can't do the same things. But like I said, we'll just have to wait and see.

I just don't understand how we're all on the same system, yet we don't have the same features. We all have to sign in the same way, on the same website, and that works fine. The fact remains that members have paid for a premium service. Rather than point out the differences, one might also consider the enhancements that have been made.

I understand that perfectly and don't have a beef with the idea that the paying members will get perks that the nonpaying ones won't. I just didn't see a reason why one of those perks would be hiding your profile when the point of this bbs (i dare presume) is to meet people and communicate. If people don't want their details known, they don't have to fill out the profile, right? :) But i'm just discussing it as an abstract since the profiles now seem to work, my thanks!

Before people get too excited, it is always worth while considering that human error (mine) might be to blame. Nothing more complex and evil than that.

I would love to do all of the tasks that are required, to address every issue seen instantly, but the fact remains a very large site like this requires maintaince (just updating the various operating system components requires that you first put it on a test server, make sure the whole thing still works and then apply the patch to the live servers, it's not like clicking OK on Windows update on a home machine) and that maintainance is the #1 priority. The site must go on.

You have my complete sympathy and empathy, i know all too well the rigours of testing a site. I can only imagine it gets worse with a site as interactive as this one. Hopefully we can all be patient and let features be turned on as you go. And i'm glad to see features actually being used, i was always peeved at Sony for purchasing a sophisticated bbs system yet they didn't turn most of the options (both for normal user and moderator) on heh heh
